On Thursday 9/30 1pm. My Wood Canoe drifted off shore, I was on the Northside of lake Rte 49 West by Circle K. The Canoe has Outriggers and would stay afloat. It has 2 fishing poles and a blue bag of gear an anchor and in seat pouch a pair of Eye Glasses. It would have been drifting East. If seen please reply to this post or contact me here: http://oneidalakeview.com/contact. The Canoe is clear coated (Yellow) was made by High School Students who donate the money for other Students in need at Christmas time. My wife and Son's purchased a book of raffle tickets and won. It was my Christmas Gift 28 years ago. Thank you for any help in finding it.

Thanks so much for your camera! I have a camp in Blossvale on Fish Creek but live outside Philadelphia. I can always count on seeing your camera to know how things are "on the Ground" before I go to my little cabin. Looks like I can visit without having to snowshoe in right now! Thanks again!

Living in Austin, Tx these past nearly 50 years since my time in Syracuse, I can always get my fix for snow by visiting this site and the Liverpool Library live web cam site during the winter.
I have recently considered buying an acre lot in CNY with an old barn in my old age and splitting my time between here and there.

Fond memories of the Lake when I was young. It is my imagination or does the Lake level look down - it appears that you can see some of the shoreline? It this a common occurrence during the winter months? Thanks for having the video available.

46 years ago I was a freshly minted engineering graduate of the University of Texas with my first job working for G.E at the East Syracuse plant and later at the Farrell Rd. plant. I spent a lot of time around/on the lake and exploring the surrounding area. I love to visit this site and also the Liverpool Library web cam site to keep tabs on the real time weather up there.

How is the water?
Submitted by Brian (not verified) on Wed, 08/09/2017 - 18:23.
I heard the blue-green algae was really bad the summer, hitting all the Finger Lakes.
I also heard that they dropped the water level 12 inches this summer because of a barge.
Are lake water levels returning to "normal" summer levels?

Since I found you a few years back, I visit 2-3 times a day...Am a Syracuse gal ,now in FL and my Grammy lived in BB for a time- Oneida Lake was/remains a warm and wet Memory of my 70 years. Your webcam is a Gift of Memory.
I check for the snow levels on your fence, and the windy waves coming ashore---look for a lawn bench, and now for the day the dock and boat are in. Love the radar view, also.
Thank you for your committed reliability in maintaining this window to " Back Home".

I wanted to comment on how much I enjoy being able to look at the lake everyday. I live on the North Shore and by the looks of this view not far from the webcam! My family has been on the lake for 93 years. I am able to spend some winter time in a warmer climate now but look at the webcam several times a day. I don't miss Oswego County winters but do miss the lake when I am away. Thank you for providing the opportunity to see this beautiful vista.

Always love to check out my dear Oneida Lake. Grew up on what was then a dirt road to a few cabins on Toad Harbor. How I wish I could have held on to the house their after my parent's passing. One of my biggest regrets (but not my only mistake in life!!!!) Fishing, ice fishing, water skiing, swimming off the end of a moonlit, handmade wooden dock. We would have to bring in gallons of city water until finally sunk a well with the help of a local dowser with a willow witch. Blankets were called planks in order to be heavy enough for warmth. A truck with a plow was good but a snowblower better be mounted on a tractor to be effective.
