Mine did not to well. It was very wet and Sid not brian at all. Not sure what the secret is with this recipe. I have baked lots of bread in my life and never had one turn out like this

The easiest bread recipe ever! It turns out perfectly every time. A nice sandwich bread perfect for toasting. Never too heavy, always just right.

I attempted making the whole wheat version of this bread, including the apple sauce. The bread did not rise at all but rather sat in the loaf pans. I used the same yeast photographed, having purchased it only a week ago. As I am on a very fixed income I have been trying these recipes to save money but this has cost me dearly. The bread is essentially like a brick. I’m very disappointed in this and will never use it again.

Am about to make this - can I leave out the sugar?

I tried this recipe using gluten free flour (white one) and whole wheat. the whole came out yummy and soft. Its like a Jamaican hardough bread. I did tweak the recipe by using 2cups wheat flour and 3 cups white flour and 1/4 cup oil. The gluten free flour didnt raise at all. I left it out to puff but next time, I will place it in the oven right away. It is very dense but excellent flavor.

The flavor and texture are good, but it did not rise much. I think I would give it more rise time. So, I made this whole grain, and the texture is more like a non-yeasted bread like banana or zucchini bread. I couldn’t spread butter on it or make sandwiches without it falling apart.

Easy peasy, and everyone loved it. We do not eat a lot of bread, but this was gone in a couple of days.

I love how this turned out!! The flavor was perfect, and even as an amateur bread maker, I didn’t find this very hard. I halved the recipe because I only had one package of yeast, and with my KitchenAid, it was one of the slickest recipes I’ve ever made.
