Love is in the Air is the World of Warcraft counterpart ofValentine's Day.As such, you will find yourself tasting chocolates or crafting bracelets duringthe event.

Most characters will be able to participate, as the daily quests have nolevel requirement. However, full completion requires Level 30.

The event itself takes place mostly in or around capital cities of bothfactions. Many rewards can be earned: mounts, blue quality gear,pets, achievements, a title, and vanity items.

This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to completethe event.

In 2021, Level 50 is required to get the X-45 Heartbreaker mount. Theloot (amulets) obtained from the Crown Chemical Co. scales up to Item Level 158at Level 60 this year.

During the Love is in the Air event, you will mostly bedoing daily quests and fighting the boss of the event. Doing so willearn you coins that you will use to buy rewards. There isalso a short introductory quest line that you will want to do.

All the parts of the event are open to players above level 5 (some parts areeven available to level 1 characters). Players below Level 50 cannotobtain the X-45 Heartbreaker mount from the daily dungeon.

Love is in the Air is a 2-week event. This year, it will start onFebruary the 2nd and finish on February the 16th.

While it is possible to earn all the rewards by diligently doingthe daily quests every day, you can also farm the coins needed to buythe rewards, greatly speeding up the completion of the event.

The currency of the event is Love Token. You will earn these coinsby doing daily quests, killing the boss of the event, and farming for Lovely Charms.

The Love is in the Air event offers a variety of rewards, includingtwo mounts, two pets, and many achievements.

Lovely Merchants can be found in all major cities and sell rewardsfor Love Tokens.

Lovely Merchants sell perfumes and colognes for 1 . Usingthese items will give you a temporary buff that stacks with flasks anddoes not drop when you enter a dungeon or raid.

A number of role play clothes are available from the Lovely Merchants. They can be used fortransmogrification purposes during the event.

Defeating the boss of the event can yield one of the following items:

Heirloom upgrades are sold by the event vendors: Ancient Heirloom Scabbardfor 200 and Timeworn Heirloom Scabbard, Weathered Heirloom Scabbard, and Battle-Hardened Heirloom Scabbard for450 .

Truesilver Shafted Arrow and Lovebird Hatchlingcan be bought from Lovely Merchants for40 .

Toxic Wasteling has a chance to drop once a day from the boss ofthe event.

X-45 Heartbreaker has an extremely low chance to drop once a dayfrom the boss of the event, if you are Level 50 or more.

The meta-achievement of the event is Fool for Love. It rewardsthe the Love Fool title, counts towards What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been, andrequires you to complete most of the achievements related to the event:

Lovely Luck Is On Your Side, Perma-Peddle, and Tough Love are alsoachievements from Love is in the Air, but they do not count towards the meta-achievement.

The Love is in the Air event features a short quest linewhere you have to counter the plans of theCrown Chemical Company.

The event also gives you a number of daily quests that you can useto earn Love Tokens.

The quest line is straightforward and involves no complicated tasks, sowe will only give the names of the quests and indicate where they start andwhere they end. Completing the quest line will grant you the Dangerous Love achievement and will unlock one of the daily quests.

For Alliance players, note that some characters related to the event may not bevisible if you are on Call of Duty, the introductory quest for Vashj'ir.

The Alliance quest line will make you interact with 3 NPCs:Junior Inspector, located next to the bank in Ironforge,Inspector Snip Snagglebolt and Marion Sutton, bothlocated in the Trade District of Stormwind City.

Note that the first quest is optional.

The Horde quest line will make you interact with 3 NPCs:Junior Detective, located near the Flight Master in Thunder Bluff,Detective Snap Snagglebolt, located near Grommash Hold in Orgrimmar,and Roka, located next to the Bag Vendor in Orgrimmar.

Every day, you will be able to do 6 daily quests: four that require you tobring Lovely Charm Bracelets to your faction leaders, one given by agents of theCrown Chemical Co., where you will have to test their products, and onegiven by envoys of the Steamwheedle Cartel, where you will have to fight againstCrown Chemical Co..

In every capital city, Kwee Q. Peddlefeet will give you a daily quest thatwill require you to bring a Lovely Charm Bracelet to the leader of the city.After accepting such a quest for the first time, you will be given a Lovely Charm Collector's Kit. This item enables you to collect Lovely Charms, which can be combined into Lovely Charm Bracelets(see dedicated section below).

Each daily quest rewards 5 Love Tokens and a specific LovelyCard, which you can use to buff your statistics.

Completing all the daily quests of your faction will grant you the Nation of Adoration (Alliance / Horde) achievement.

Crown Chemical Co. Public Relations Agents, NPCs found in allmajor cities, will give you one daily quest chosen from the following list:

• A Perfect Puff of Perfume (rewards 5 );
• A Cloudlet of Classy Cologne (rewards 5 );
• Bonbon Blitz (rewards 5 ).

These quests are easy and only require you to use the quest item you aregiven on 10 other players.

After completing the quest line, Inspector Snip Snagglebolt(Alliance) and Detective Snap Snagglebolt (Horde) will give you a simpledaily quest that depends on your faction and your level.

The boss encounter of the event (located in Shadowfang Keep)can be accessed by queuing for it in the Dungeon Finder or by speaking toSteamwheedle Shyster, located in the TradeDistrict of Stormwind City or near Grommash Hold in Orgrimmar.

The boss encounter consists in defeating Apothecary Hummel,Apothecary Baxter, and Apothecary Frye, whom your party will all facesimultaneously. The fight itself is fairly simple, especially for well gearedlevel 60 players

The first time that you defeat the boss encounter, you will be grantedthe Tough Love achievement and you will be able to loot a Faded Lovely Greeting Card from Hummel. This starts theSomething is in the Air (and it Ain't Love) (Alliance / Horde) quest, which rewards somegold.

The first time that you defeat the boss encounter in a given day, you will begiven a Heart-Shaped Box, which has a chance to contain:

• 10 Love Tokens;
• Forever-Lovely Rose;
• Vile Fumigator's Mask;
• Toxic Wasteling;
• The Heartbreaker;
• X-45 Heartbreaker.

Every time you defeat the boss encounter, Apothecary Hummel willdrop one of the following Neck items:

• Winking Eye of Love;
• Heartbreak Charm;
• Shard of Pirouetting Happiness;
• Sweet Perfume Broach;
• Choker of the Pure Heart.

The enemies have damaging spells that fit in one of two categories: Perfume(purple) or Cologne (green):

• Apothecary Hummel only has Perfume abilities;
• Apothecary Baxter only has Cologne abilities;
• Apothecary Frye has both Perfume and Cologne abilities.

Inside the area where you will be fighting, there are two cauldrons: Perfume Neutralizer makes you immune to Perfume attacks while Cologne Neutralizer makes you immune to Cologne attacks. Clickinga cauldron will create an item in your bags after a short cast time. Using thisitem is what gives you the immunity buff (which lasts 5 minutes).

With that in mind, the encounter is rather easy. Have one player takethe Perfume Neutralizer and keep aggro on Hummel. Have another playertake the Cologne Neutralizer and keep aggro on Baxter. The rest of thegroup can take either of the Neutralizers. By doing so, your groupwill only have to worry about moving out of thePerfume or Cologne void zones that Frye (who cannot be tanked) regularlyputs down.

Ideally, you will want to kill Hummel and Baxter first and finish withFrye.

In addition to being rewarded by the daily quests, Love Tokens canbe bought with Lovely Charm Bracelets, at a rate of 1 Lovely CharmBracelet for 1 Love Token, from Lovely Merchants in capital cities.

To craft a Lovely Charm Bracelet, you need to collect 10 Lovely Charms, which you will combine by right-clicking one of them. Lovely Charms drop from creatures that reward experience or honor, if youhave a Lovely Charm Collector's Kit, given to you when doing the first ofyour faction's daily quests.

Players can efficiently farm these items in the following ways:

• by killing trash mobs in level 25-30 dungeons (Halls of Reflection) orin Northrend heroic dungeons;
• by killing level 25-30 mobs in Icecrown;
• by killing mobs on the Molten Front (you will never run out of targets).

Note that it is no longer possible to farm these items by killing mobs whileinside a vehicle, like in the Ulduar gauntlet event.

Note that, if you can afford it, you can buy Lovely Charm Bracelets fromother players. However, as is the case with items that have a limited duration,you cannot trade them through the auction house.

If you have followed this guide so far, you will have already obtainedthe following achievements: Dangerous Love, Nation of Adoration (Alliance / Horde),and Tough Love.

In this section, we will run you through the many remaining achievements.

To complete the Be Mine! achievement, you need to eat each of the8 following candies:

• Heart Candy - Be mine!
• Heart Candy - I LOVE YOU
• Heart Candy - I'll follow you all around Azeroth.
• Heart Candy - All yours.
• Heart Candy - You're the best!
• Heart Candy - I'm all yours!
• Heart Candy - You're mine!
• Heart Candy - Hot lips.

These candies can be found in Bags of Heart Candies, which you can buyfor 2 from a Lovely Merchant in any major city. You might needto buy several bags before you obtain all the cookies.

Either by doing your faction's daily quests or by farming for Lovely Charms, you will eventually make 12 Lovely Charm Braceletsand trigger the Charming achievement.

To obtain the Fistful of Love achievement, you need to buy 15 Handful of Rose Petals (you only need 11, but you can only buy theseitems 5 by 5). This will cost you 6 tokens. Then, use the items on thevarious combinations of class and race that the achievement demands.

Flirt With Disaster (Alliance / Horde) requires you to first buy:

• a few bottles of an alcoholic beverage (enough to get you smashed);
• a bottle of perfume, for 1 , from a Lovely Merchant (either "Enchantress" Perfume, "Forever" Perfume, or "VICTORY" Perfume);
• a Handful of Rose Petals (unless you have someleft from Fistful of Love).

Then, head to Ironforge, if you play Alliance,or Undercity, if you play Horde. Finally, follow these steps:

1. Find Sraaz, if you play Alliance, or Jeremiah Payson, if youplay Horde;
2. Get smashed (by drinking enough of the alcoholic beverage you brought);
3. Put on the perfume that you bought;
4. Use a Handful of Rose Petals on the NPC;
5. /kiss the NPC.

For completing I Pitied The Fool, you first need to buy 5 Love Fools.Each Love Fool costs 10 , so it is a good idea to go with a group offriends to do the achievement, each friend bringing one or two Love Fools.

Then, simply go to each of the locations mentioned in the achievement text,put down a Love Fool, target it, and /pity it.

For completing Lonely?, you first need to obtain a Buttermilk Delight, which you can find in a Box of Chocolates.This box can be bought from a Lovely Merchant for 10 . You mightalso need to buy a Romantic Picnic Basket, which costs 10 andcan be refunded if you manage not to use it.

Then, you need to go to Dalaran with a friend, or find one there. Sitat one of the Romantic Picnic sets or create one using your Romantic Picnic Basket. Wait for your character and that of yourfriend to be buffed with Romantic Picnic before eating your pieceof Buttermilk Delight. Note that your friend only needs to sit down withyou for you to get the achievement, they do not need to also eat a ButtermilkDelight, unless they want to get the achievement.

Completing Sweet Tooth requires you to eat each of the followingcandies: Buttermilk Delight, Sweet Surprise, Dark Desire, Very Berry Cream. Each of them has an 80% chance to be containedin a Box of Chocolates, which can be bought from a Lovely Merchantfor 10 .

Note that from having done the Lonely?, you must already havecompleted the Buttermilk Delight objective and you probably also have obtainedsome of the other candies (if not all of them).

For Lovely Luck Is On Your Side, simply buy Lovely Dress Boxes from aLovely Merchant until one of them contains a Lovely Black Dress.Each box costs 20 and has a 25% chance of containing a LovelyBlack Dress.

My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose requires you to obtain a Bouquet of Red Roses or a Bouquet of Ebon Roses. Thesedrop from bosses in heroic WOTLK dungeons and from bossesin normal and heroic Cataclysm dungeons.

The Perma-Peddle is obtained by buying a Truesilver Shafted Arrow(costs 40 at a Lovely Merchant) and using it to learn how to summon the Peddlefeet pet.

To complete the Shafted! achievement, spend 10 to buy 10 Silver Shafted Arrowsfrom a Lovely Merchant. Then, use the arrows on 10 players that do not currently have a non-combatpet out.

To complete the The Rocket's Pink Glare achievement, you need to buy 10 Love Rockets from a Lovely Merchant, something that will cost you 10 .Then, fire them off as fast as you can (by right-clicking them in your bags).

There appear to be issues in crowded areas and with certain addons thatprevent all the rockets from being counted towards the achievement. Toavoid this, you can attempt to obtain the achievement in a deserted place,with your addons disabled.

You can buy a Manufactured Love Prism from Lovely Merchantsfor 40 . Using this item on someone gives them astack of Love Ray. Love Magnet requires 10 stacks ofLove Ray, Beacon of Love 25 stacks, and They Really Love Me!50 stacks.

Manufactured Love Prism has a 30-second cooldown and thebuff it gives, Love Ray lasts 5 minutes, so you need to findsomeone else to keep casting the buff on you and make it stack to 50.Obviously, if you find more people, it will go faster.

They Really Love Me! rewards you with a toy: True Love Prism.

It Might Just Save Your Life is a reward for using one of theNeck items that drop from Apothecary Hummel:

• Winking Eye of Love;
• Heartbreak Charm;
• Shard of Pirouetting Happiness;
• Sweet Perfume Broach;
• Choker of the Pure Heart.
